Justice Connection Calls on President Trump to Support Federal Law Enforcement
WASHINGTON — Today Justice Connection announced the launch of a new advertising campaign with a spot titled “Patriots,” highlighting recent firings of key officials at the Department of Justice and FBI that make America less safe. Justice Connection calls on President Trump to stop putting American lives at risk by gutting DOJ and weakening our national security.
The ad, which first aired on Fox News’ morning show ‘Fox & Friends’, is part of a larger campaign by Justice Connection to inform the American people about the potential impact of these cuts to public safety. The ad is particularly timely given today’s news out of the Justice Department that the Trump administration has proposed additional cuts across the department, including combining ATF and DEA.
“President Trump’s chaotic and reckless actions are driven by his thirst for retribution against DOJ,” said Stacey Young, Justice Connection’s founder and executive director, who resigned from DOJ in January after 18 years as a career litigator. “These actions weaken federal law enforcement, which makes America more vulnerable to violent crime and terrorism.”
The spot prominently features a clip from President Trump’s speech at DOJ on March 14 in which he said, “People ask me what am I going to do about law enforcement, and I answer them by saying I’ve already done most of it.”
Since January 20, the Trump administration has fired or reassigned seasoned leaders across the Department—prosecutors, FBI agents, and high-level national security officials among them, including those who would investigate the unauthorized disclosure of national security information. Those dedicated career public servants have either been replaced by political loyalists with little to no relevant experience, or their critical roles remain unfilled.

Justice Connection will continue speaking out about what’s happening to DOJ’s workforce, especially when it’s too dangerous for those in the trenches to do it themselves. Reporters want to be able to hear directly and on the record from federal employees—and when that isn’t possible, Justice Connection is here to bridge the gap.
